Privacy
How we handle what you send us
Short and plain: we keep what you type into our reservation form or send by email, and use it only to plan our first units and to contact you about them. If you accept analytics cookies, we also count visits.
- What we collect
- What you enter in the reservation form: name, email, company, role, city and country, units and size, timeline and notes, and whether you would be happy for a pilot’s performance data to be published. If you email us, your message and address; if you apply for a role, your CV and message. If you accept analytics cookies: the pages you view, how you reached us (for example a search or a link), your browser and device type, and your approximate location.
- Why
- To plan our first units, decide where they go first, and tell you when they are scheduled; to consider you for a role you apply for; and, if you accept analytics, to count visits and see which pages and campaigns bring people here. We do not sell or share your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
- Pilot performance data
- If you host a pilot, the unit’s performance data (energy in, heat out, temperatures and run times) is published openly only if you agree in your pilot agreement, and you can stop publishing at any time. Your name, contact details and address are never published with it; the public listing may show an approximate location, such as a town or region, and the unit’s size.
- Where it is kept
- Reservation form entries are stored in our Google Workspace account (Google Forms and Google Sheets); emails are kept in our company mailbox; analytics data is kept in Google Analytics. Google may store and process this data in the United States and in other countries where it or its subprocessors have facilities.
- Who sees it
- AReCoS staff, and manufacturing partners only when needed to plan a unit for your site, under confidentiality. The services that run our tools also handle it for us: Google (Forms, Sheets and, if you accept, Analytics) and GitHub, which hosts this website.
- How long
- Reservation details: until our first units are scheduled and delivered, or until you ask us to delete them, whichever comes first. Job applications: until the role is filled and for up to twelve months after, unless you ask us to delete them sooner. Analytics: the two cookies expire after six months; Google Analytics keeps visit-level data for two months, and only totals are kept longer.
- Google Analytics runs only if you choose Accept in the cookie banner; until then nothing from Google Analytics loads. If you accept, it sets two cookies for arecos.net,
_gaand_ga_2PCNEFQ37M, and sends Google a record of each page you view. Google says Google Analytics does not log or store IP addresses; it uses them to estimate location and to protect its service. We have switched off Google signals, advertising features and data sharing with Google for its own purposes. Google processes Analytics data for us under its Data Processing Terms. We keep your choice in your browser for six months, then ask again. You can change it at any time with Cookie settings at the foot of every page, or with the button below; rejecting after accepting deletes both cookies. How Google uses information from sites that use its services. - Global Privacy Control
- If your browser sends Global Privacy Control, we treat it as Reject on every page: Google Analytics does not load, and Cookie settings shows that your signal is honoured. Apart from our host, GitHub, which logs visitors’ IP addresses for security, only Google Analytics collects information about your visits through this site, and only if you accept it. Its cookies are set for arecos.net only, and we have switched off Google signals, so Google does not use this data for ads personalization. Because analytics runs only after you accept, we do not respond to Do Not Track signals separately.
- This website
- GitHub Pages hosts this site and logs your IP address for security when you visit (GitHub privacy statement). Our fonts are served from this site, not from a font service. The reservation form sends what you type to Google Forms when you press Reserve a place.
- Your choices
- Email info@arecos.net to see, correct or delete what we hold about you. We will reply within 30 days.
- In the EU, UK or Switzerland
- AReCoS LLC is responsible for your data. We use analytics only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time with Cookie settings, and we use reservation details because you asked us to plan a unit for you. You may ask to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your data, object to its use, and complain to your data protection authority.
- Changes
- If we change this notice, we post the new version here with a new date. If a change affects analytics, the cookie banner asks you again; if it affects how we use reservation details, we email reservation holders.
