AReCoS

Partners and investors

Work with AReCoS.

Pilot hosts, homeowners, refrigeration operators, manufacturers and investors: what AReCoS offers each, and where to start.

Controller evaluation todayRooftop pilots targeted for 2027Every pilot under a written agreement

Where to start

Four ways in.

  • Commercial pilot hosts

A rooftop heat pump on your building. Pilot costs planned to be mostly covered; site requirements, backup heat, monitoring, maintenance and the test schedule set in the agreement.

    All-electric pilots targeted for 2027

    Reserve a place
  • Homeowners

An existing gas furnace is planned to stay as a backup. Installation, monitoring with your consent, costs and duties agreed in writing before anything is installed.

Residential pilots targeted for early 2028

    Reserve a place
  • Refrigeration operators

The embedded controller on a system you run, against a baseline measured first.

    How an evaluation works
  • Manufacturers

The controller inside the equipment you build, licensed per unit; and manufacturing partners for the first heat pump builds.

How we make money

The optimizer is designed in. For selected customers, we intend to share in the savings.

Unit sales, plus recurring revenue.

AReCoS is designed to put the optimization inside each unit.

Today, optimization can require

  • A supervisor in the equipment room
  • Add-on sensors and a gateway
  • Installation and integration
  • A cloud subscription every year

With AReCoS

  • An optimizer inside every unit
  • Units designed to agree over BACnet, with no optimizer above them
  • Optional performance-based savings agreement
  • Cloud optional, for monitoring only: it never commands
  1. Unit salesHeat pump rooftop units, then residential heat pumps.
  2. Share of savingsFor selected customers, verified against a measured baseline.
  3. Refrigeration controllerSupplied to operators; licensed per unit to manufacturers.
  4. Vehicle thermal systemsEV heat pump and controller for pilots; software licensed per vehicle for production.

Savings-share terms will be set with each pilot site. How each works, and whether it needs a supervisor. Utilities: ask about pilots.

For investors

The company on one page.

The platform
One embedded controller and one air–water heat exchanger, shared by the rooftop heat pump, the residential heat pump, refrigeration and the EV heat pump.
Intellectual property
U.S. Patent 12,768,557 on the controller, issued October 20, 2026; the heat exchanger is patent pending, U.S. provisional application 63/751,603.
Stage today
The controller is available for evaluation, with a published hardware test, and is being tested with Oak Ridge National Laboratory under a research agreement (CRADA) supported by the U.S. Department of Energy. The heat pumps are in prototype development.
Near-term revenue
Refrigeration controller evaluations, then supply to operators and per-unit licenses to manufacturers, while the heat pumps are tested.
Milestones, all targets
Chamber tests before the 2027 all-electric rooftop pilots; EV pilots in summer to fall 2027; commercial rooftop units in 2028; residential pilots in early 2028.
Manufacturing
Planned with established manufacturing partners, not an AReCoS factory.
What still has to be proven
Frost clearing and cold-weather capacity in the chamber and the field; efficiency ratings through certification; the controller on refrigeration plants and natural refrigerants. Each is listed with its status on the evidence page.
